What is the Brady list in a criminal case in Arizona?

Описание: In the United States, the Supreme Court ruled in 1963 that Prosecutors must disclose exculpatory evidence to the defense.

This means any evidence that might show a defendant's innocence or might be used to impeach the credibility of a government's witness must be handed over!

This includes the police and law enforcement.

The Brady list is named after the case, Brady v. Maryland, 373 U.S. 83 (1963).

When police are fired, reprimanded or disciplined, they may make it onto a list of officers called a Brady list.

At our office, we request all the files related to the officer's misconduct that caused that individual to placed on the Brady list.

This is impeachment material, meaning that at a trial, we might be able to use this information question the officer's credibility.
