LAST CALL Plaques First Glance – Plus Hellcat Engine Noises Leads to New Crate Motor Warranty Claim

Описание: What makes a Last Call Dodge special? Not talking about the Special Edition cars, but the regular Charger and Challengers that bear the moniker of “LAST CALL”?

Of course, we all know they have the commemorative plaque, located under the hood for every single Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger, from the V6 cars all the way up to the Super Stocks Jailbreaks and Demon170.

The plaques are different between Charger and Challenger, and luckily I have one of each under the same roof, fresh of the car transport. The plaques are unique for each model, showing the silhouette of the Charger or Challenger but both feature the Last Call designator, as well as designed in Auburn Hills Michigan, and assembled in Brampton, Ontario.

I also want to bring attention to a possible problem Hemi engines may develop. So far it is avoiding the Scat Pack Apache engines, though some have developed odd engine sounds. Mostly, it’s the Hellcat engines, and it almost always results in a warranty claim, replacing the entire engine with a new crate motor from Chrysler.

Several Rippers, as well as other channels have reported on the issue, and are still waiting on replacement engines. Normally, this is to be expected, as it will take time for FCA engineers to figure out the cause of the noises. They will also need the faulty engines to study the noise and figure out what causes it. My hunch, its oil related, leading to crank or piston bearings, mostly due to where the sound is coming from, located mostly from the sides, and underside of the engine.

Note: The normal ticking heard from the top of the engine is normal, hydraulic lifter sounds. Hopefully @tomlancy45 aka 717CHRIS and Dave M. have gotten their cars fixed and ready to hit the streets!
