You might be wondering where my travels have brought me this time. Well, I'm here at Guntakal Junction Railway Station situated in the #anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, India. Let me tell you, the aesthetics of this railway station are reminiscent of an international airport!

Former Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, during his tenure from 2017 to 2021, highlighted Guntakal Railway Station in a tweet, praising its wide roads, spacious areas, and comfortable interiors, enhancing the overall travel experience.

This station, serving as the headquarters of #guntakal #railway Division in the South Central Railway zone, is a significant junction connecting the Mumbai–Chennai line, the Vijayawada–Marmagova line, and the Guntakal–Bengaluru line, ensuring connectivity to major cities like Mumbai (West), Secunderabad (North), Vijayawada (East), Chennai, and Bengaluru (South).

Facilities here include parking for both four-wheelers and two-wheelers, offering hourly or monthly pass options. For those carrying heavy luggage, a dedicated pathway from the entrance to the platforms has been provided. Additionally, retiring rooms are available at nominal charges.

As we step onto platform 1, there's a waiting room, premium lounge, and several food stalls. During my last visit in December, I intended to book a retiring room for some rest between two train journeys, but it was under maintenance. Hence, we relaxed at the lounge area furnished with comfortable sofas.

I've taken this opportunity to showcase this station as a few trains, including the one I planned to board for Bangalore, have recently been diverted. We tried South Indian food at platform 1, but unfortunately, it didn't meet our expectations. However, for delicious and warm food, head to platform 7. We tried it, and it was a delightful experience.
