The Himalayas, is the highest mountain range on Earth, stretching approximately 2,400 km across Asia. The Himalayas consists of three parallel mountain ranges from south to north, the Shivalik Hills on the south, the Middle or Lesser Himalayan Range and the Great Himalayas which is the highest range.
In this video we visit Chanshal Pass in the Shimla district of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The pass sits atop Chanshal Peak, which is at 4,520 metres and is the highest peak in the Shimla district. The region of Shimla District falls under Middle or Lesser Himalayan Range. You can see the panoramic Greater Himalayan peaks and various glaciers from the Chanshal pass.
