Police in Merseyside England crushed more than 200 motorcycles that were seized in an operation to crack down on “illegal use or anti-social use” of off-road cycles. Called Operation Brookdale, it is an annual crackdown by police. This video is from the 2016 edition of the cops’ Bike Crush. Police say they seized more than 300 bikes over three months, 100 of which were stolen. Police arrested 150 people — called “criminal scrambler bike riders” — as well. Scrambler bikes are often called off-road bikes or dirt bikes and cover a class of motorcycle that is not registered or licensed for road travel or is generally seen as inappropriate for road travel. It includes ATVs, or all-terrain vehicles, also known as quads. Merseyside is in North West England, with the city of Liverpool as its focus and surrounding communities on the banks of the River Mersey.
