How to bend steel handlebars!
I am making a set of mountain bike handlebars in this video, but the process would be the same for moto bars as well.
Materials -
- 7/8 x 0.058 4130 steel
- 3/8 x 0.058 4130 steel
Math
- bend 1 from center - 25mm
- bend 2 from bend 1 - 120mm
- all 4 bends - 25⁰
Final measurements
- 78mm rise
- 12⁰ backsweep
Tools -
- @JDSquaredInc Model 32 bender
- 3.5" CLR die for 7/8" tubing
- Wren mini belt sander
Brazing Setup
- @Gasflux Type-B flux
- Glasflux C-04 1/16" brazing rod
- Smith AW1A brazing handle
- Smith #1 brazing tip
