FDNY Family Day at The Rock

Описание: We are on Randall's Island at FDNY's training facility, better known as the Rock, where we see Family Day, where probationary firefighters who are still in the academy for another week, bring their families to the academy to show off what the have learned during their time there. There were a number of evolutions, including climbing a rear-mount ladder to a rooftop and then rappelling down, putting out a car fire, auto extrication, FST drills (carrying tools, running lengths of hose, venting a rooftop scuttle, etc...), and advancing on a fire with a nozzle/backup team. The evolutions, which were split between 4 different squads, lead to the grand finale, which was a simulated 10-75 with a Mayday call for an extraction, where a firefighter was lowered by rope from the rooftop to a third-story window, so as to extract a firefighter trapped by the flames. All in all, it was a really interesting day, especially getting to see the different evolutions and the next wave of FDNY firefighters in action.
