If you drive a 2024 Hyundai Tucson (NX4A) and the rear seat belt warning light comes on with empty back seats, you are not alone. Some owners also see a "Check turn signal" message on the instrument cluster, even when the exterior signals still work normally. These alerts can be distracting, can trigger chimes, and can make it hard to tell when a real safety warning is happening.
Hyundai released a dealer bulletin style communication that guides dealerships to correct these false warnings by updating software in the Integrated Control Unit (ICU). The bulletin directs technicians to follow a specific update procedure so the cluster logic stops incorrectly flagging rear belt status and turn signal checks. If the software is already current or the issue returns, dealers typically move on to inspections of rear buckle switch inputs, wiring, connectors, and rear seatback latch alignment to rule out an intermittent hardware signal.
This is not a recall. It is not published as a traditional TSB for customers, and it is listed as a manufacturer communication intended for dealer diagnosis and repair. Reference numbers: NHTSA ID 11014133, manufacturer communication 24-01-047H, document MC-11014133-0001.
Cost depends on coverage and what is required. If updated under warranty, the repair may be $0. If out of warranty, a dealer software update and verification is often around $150 to $300. If additional diagnosis or parts are needed, totals can commonly range from about $250 to $600. Independent shops may charge less for inspection and basic electrical repair, but they may not be able to perform the factory ICU update.
