Summary:
Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided drainage of pancreatic fluid collections (PFCs) was analyzed retrospectively in this study of 141 patients. Disconnected pancreatic duct syndrome occurred frequently (40 %), but it was not associated with increased rates of EUS-guided drainage failure, or with the need for endoscopic re-intervention or step-up therapy. It was however associated with increased symptomatic PFC recurrence after stent removal.
