Almost two months after her release from an Israeli jail, 17-year-old Palestinian protest-icon Ahed Tamimi has granted an interview to FRANCE 24. Tamimi was speaking during a visit to France, where she was guest of honour at the left-wing "Fête de l'Humanité" festival, which took place north of Paris this weekend.
The young Palestinian activist Ahed Tamimi spoke to FRANCE 24 about her arrest a year ago for slapping two Israeli soldiers on the sidelines of a protest against the occupation of her West Bank village, and the support she received on social media during her eight months in detention in Israel.
The teenager also discussed the Palestinian resistance, as well as the message she sent to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
"We need to double our efforts to free Palestine," she told FRANCE 24’s Taoufik Mjaied.
