Established under the Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation Act, 2004, PGSHF was launched to provide plots and houses to government employees on a no-profit-no-loss basis. Headed by the Chief Secretary Punjab, a Board of Directors comprising government officials and civil servants looks after the affairs of the foundation.

Furthermore, the Board of Directors has constituted five major committees to manage different tasks. The list includes the Planning and Development Committee, Finance and Accounts Committee, Land Bank Committee, House Allocation Committee and Works Committee.

BECOMING A MEMBER OF PGSHF
One needs to become a member of the Punjab Government Servant Housing Foundation to receive the award. To obtain PGSHF membership, you’ll need to submit a duly filled form to the foundation during a certain period. The form can be downloaded from the official website.

APPROVED PGSHF LOCATIONS

PGSHF has chosen 11 cities to establish societies for its retired employees. The members can specify their preferred government housing society at the time of filling the membership form.

This Punjab Government Housing Scheme allots plots of 5 marla, 7 marla, 10 marla and 1 kanal.

The area of a plot or a house depends on a government servant’s basic pay scale at the time of their retirement or death and as per the availability at the chosen location. Meanwhile, the order of seniority for each category is solely determined by the date of their retirement.

Starting from BS-1 and going all the way to BS-22, here’s how Punjab Government Servant Housing Foundation allots plots and already built houses to its members.

BS-8 to BS-15 7 Marla
BS-16 to BS-18 10 Marla
BS-19 to BS-22 1 Kanal

PGSHF members are legally allowed to sell their property to a third party.

Members are also required to obtain the foundation’s approval beforehand and submit a fixed fee for the transfer of title to the buyer.

As of July 2019, Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation has announced the following fee structure for the transfer of houses and commercial properties in each housing scheme for government employees.

Transfer to legal heirs following the demise of a member None
Transfer to legal heirs during a member’s lifetime PKR 1,000
Transfer to third party through sale PKR 3,000
Transferring a commercial unit PKR 20,00
