PR8 Hike Madeira

Описание: ‪@Dean_Trips‬'s Dean hikes the PR8 Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço route at the very eastern part of Madeira, a Portuguese Island in the Atlantic Ocean off of North Africa. Madeira has an incredible amount of hiking trails and many are marked by a number system with PR in front of the numbers. The ones that have elevation gain and are more mountainous are "Vereda's", and the more flat (although can be at any elevation) are "Lavada's" and follow the water canals that flow all over Madeira. This one, PR8 is open with beautiful views of the peninsula. There are some steps and ups and downs, but not so much elevation gain. There is an opportunity to swim at the end of the roughly 3km trail (one way). There is also a rocky beach that can be reached by descending off the trail.
