I went out to Byron Center to record this SD-10, and for some reason instead of doing a three-minute alert like Kent County usually does, they tested for four minutes, other enthusiasts noticed this too. I think what happened is, that they typically send out two-tone bursts, so if some sirens didn't activate they could but for some reason the second one went out late so the sirens went for an extra minute. A little story about this siren: It used to be a fire siren but then retired and is now used for severe weather and civil defense. I asked and they said the timer was no longer hooked up :( . He also said this siren was recently painted and that it has been running since the 60's and still going strong!
