In today’s video, we repaired a Tecno Spark 20 (Kj5) with a very unique display issue.
📱 Problem Details:
The phone was:
Charging properly
Powering ON normally
Receiving calls with proper sound
But the LCD had:
No graphics display
No backlight
🔍 Diagnosis:
After proper checking, we found:
The 1.8V line was missing, causing no graphics.
The Display light positive line was missing, causing no backlight.
The issue was coming from a damaged pin in the main PCB display connector.
The device was water damaged and previously repaired by another technician.
🛠️ What We Did:
❌ We did NOT replace the full connector.
✅ Replaced only the damaged pin using a donor jack.
✅ Applied a jumper from the panel to PCB for the backlight positive line.
✅ Fixed the issue completely without changing the entire connector.
Even if we had replaced the connector, the backlight jumper would still be required. So we used a smarter and safer repair method.
This is a professional hardware repair trick, especially helpful in water-damaged cases.
