*The Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE), Kariavattom , P. O Thiruvananthapuram is a part of the academic wing of the Sports Authority of India (SAI). The college is affiliated to University of Kerala and it aims to serve as a model institute for teacher's training by offering undergraduate and post-graduate/ research courses.
Besides the academic programs, the college runs sports_ training schemes of SAI in a few disciplines. It provides excellent facilities for the upliftment of Physical Education and Sports in the country. The picturesque 50 acres of land facilitate for play fields, training halls, Swimming pool, Cycle velodrome, hostels, staff quarters, and administrative building which accommodates Class rooms, Laboratories, assembly hall and library.

*Is part of the academic wing of the Sports Authority of India, and is situated at Kariavattom, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. It was founded in 17 August 1985 under the auspices of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.[1] The college provide facilities for the promotion of physical education, sports and teacher training by offering undergraduate and post-graduate research courses.

College Profile
The Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education, Kariavattom, Thiruvananthapuram which bears the name of Lakshmibai, Rani of Jhansi, the most resolute, patriotic and illustrious heroine of the First War of Independence, came into existence on 17th August, 1985 under the auspices of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. With the amalgamation of the SNIPES with Sports Authority of India on 1st May, 1987, the college became a part of the academic wing of the Sports Authority of India at par with Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports, Patiala and Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education, Gwalior. The college aims to provide excellent facilities for the upliftment of physical education and sports in the country and to serve as a model institute for teacher's training by offering undergraduate and post-graduate/ research courses.
Major Objectives

To prepare highly competent and skilled leaders in the field of physical education and sports.

To serve as a Centre of Excellence for research in physical education and allied areas

To provide technical ,professional and academic leadership to other institutions of physical education

To provide vocational guidance and placement services to the people in the field, and

The college is located at the Northern side of the Kariavattom Campus of the University of Kerala approximately 15km from Thiruvananthapuram city on National Highway (NH 47).
