The September 12th 2025 Nintendo Direct took place today, and unsurprisingly, it contained a segment dedicated to Mario's 40th Anniversary. This makes complete sense; not only because Mario's 40th is the day after this Direct (the 13th) but with this Direct being announced to be 60 MINUTES LONG, there was no doubt in my mind that we'd be seeing some kind of 40th Anniversary segment here. The surprising part however is that it was the FIRST thing that took place in the Direct! I was expecting it to be the last 20 minutes, not the first! So that was a HUGE surprise!
Nonetheless, I decided to dedicate this Direct reaction to JUST the 40th Anniversary segment. There were a few other things throughout the Direct that I touched upon, but none of my reactions were super worthwhile, so I ultimately decided to just skip 'em for this video. Sorry to anyone that might've wanted to see those! But I hope you're able to enjoy my insane fanboying to the Mario overload that we got today either way!
