International Women’s Day 2026 will be observed on March 8 to recognise women’s achievements and highlight gender equality. The day focuses on issues such as discrimination, violence against women, and unequal access to opportunities. The 2026 theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.” stresses the need to ensure legal rights are implemented in everyday life. Originating from early 20th-century movements demanding better working conditions and voting rights, the observance continues to promote women’s empowerment and social equality worldwide.
