fledge hyperactivity is REAL and our trouble balls have it BAD.
First flight is hours or days away! 😱

📍 In this electric clip, Sandy (hatched April 4) and Luna
(hatched April 5) are at PEAK pre-fledge energy. This level of
hyperactivity is one of the strongest signals that fledge is
IMMINENT — eaglets get increasingly restless and active in the
final days before first flight. They can feel the pull to the
sky and can't contain it. Wings flapping constantly, bodies in
motion, eyes scanning outward. Our big bois are READY. 🦅

🦅 ABOUT JACKIE & SHADOW
Jackie and Shadow are the world-famous bald eagle pair of Big Bear
Valley, California. Their nest sits 145 feet high in a Jeffrey
Pine, monitored 24/7 by Friends of Big Bear Valley (FOBBV). Jackie
is believed to be the first bald eagle ever hatched and fledged in
Big Bear. Shadow won her over in 2018. Together they have raised
four eaglets to fledge: Simba, Spirit, Sunny, and Gizmo — and now
Sandy and Luna are following in their footsteps.
