Clairton explosion: multiple people trapped under rubble

An explosion at U.S. Steel’s Clairton Coke Works near Pittsburgh injured dozens and trapped some under rubble, officials said. Emergency crews are on site working to rescue those trapped. Five people have been transported for treatment, and no fatalities have been confirmed, according to Allegheny County officials.
"Alert: Allegheny County Police are responding alongside multiple other agencies to U.S. Steel Clairton Coke Works following the report of an explosion. Multiple injuries have been reported. More information to follow."
Governor Shapiro posted on X: "My Administration is in touch with local officials in Clairton, PA as they respond to an explosion at US Steel Clairton Coke Works plant this morning.
@PEMAHQ and @PAStatePolice are in touch with first responders and have offered all assistance.
The scene is still active, and folks nearby should follow the direction of local authorities. Please join Lori and me in praying for the Clairton community."
