Drink Recipe Memorization: Memorizing The Most Drinks in the Shortest Amount of Time

Memory Palaces? "I tried them. They're too hard, too much work, they don't work for me." all of those excuses were mine, only I called them reasons, not excuses.

I was creating a mental block to freeing up my own brain's incredible potential to memorizing faster than I thought possible.

How do Memory Palaces work? They work by creating unique associations between what you need memorized with various physical spots inside of buildings and places you designate to be memory palaces - places you can store your valuable memories.

The Memory Palace is where you memorize the drink names, each spot (each station, each place within your palace) has a drink name associated with it. You can picture the drink itself (like the Bloody Mary for instance), or you can picture an object (like an airmail letter or a piece of bamboo for the Airmail Special and the Bamboo Cocktail), or you can take a word that sounds close, or looks close to remind you. For me a Halloween ghoul is what I picture to remind me of the Corpse Reviver 2.

The main reason that I am using the Palaces is to attach drink names to locations, then I can literally go down any hallway, stairwell, into any room, and have the ability to study any time I want, day or night, showering, out running, in the gym, lights on or off -- it makes no difference.

NOTE: The most efficient way to use a palace is to always start on one side of a wall (either the right or the left) and attach all yuh our associations on that side as you work your way around the entire "palace". You'll have more locations that way and can work your way around the entire place and then back out the front door of the place without ever crossing your own path.

But even that isn't an absolutely hard fast rule. Just keep it straight in your head if your path did have to cross, make a mental note to be careful there, and move on. Good luck!
