Hi long time no video!

I found the song, Happy Pills, on Spotify a few weeks ago and really really wanted to animate my boy Jackal to it for fun. His ref:

He's crazy, but I absolutely adore him either way ;v; Except, I drew him as a dog instead, just to make my life a bit easier. The cheetah's name is Ino, and she belongs to my friend Ara.

While I could have done the 'Happy Pills' meme, I wanted to do my own interpretation and wasn't aware there WAS a meme until I finished sketching my rough draft/clean storyboard. This is why it's under a different title, b/c the idea is too different for it to be called that.

Plus, a meme is considered "original" based off the content, not because you used a song that isn't even yours to begin with. Lmao

I'm adding an additional explanation for those who are still not convinced:

Why didn't I just I just call it Happy Pills? How is this "Original"

The short answer is that I originally was going to call it Happy Pills based off the song title. However, a lot of the work that went into the meme (the planning and conceptual work) was all done before I realized another already existed with the same song. I was under the impression that what I was doing was original - and it was!

As much as I didn't want to, I changed the name of my meme to reflect that what I did was not the same. I'm not claiming I made the 'original Happy Pills meme', I'm acknowledging that I'm not the first, but I'm also acknowledging my ideas as their own and as mine. The point of a meme is to redo what someone else did, but it wouldn't have made sense if I called it Happy Pills when the content in this video in no way follows what the original outlined.

By calling it original, I'm giving people the opportunity to redo what I did if they like and to give myself credit where credit is due.


Either way, I hope you enjoy! Sorry for not uploading in awhile, I have a lot of academic work this year.
