According to Surfline and seasonal outlooks, California’s fall features crisp mornings, clearer skies and three active swell-making basins in play.  That means when the jet stream dips and the high-pressure systems shift, OC’s west & south facing beachbreaks pop with that magic combo.

Here’s what I look for:
• A decent NW angle windswell
• A lingering southern hemi or SSW swell pulse to fuel the bottom turn
• Clean mid-tide windows where the sandbars hold together and early morning offshore winds
