In this passage, Moses reminds Israel of their time in the wilderness. God allowed them to experience hunger before providing manna — something they had never seen before.
It wasn’t meant to harm them. It was meant to teach them that life is not sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
When our comforts are stripped away, life can feel barren. But sometimes God allows these seasons to remind us how much we depend on Him.
Difficult seasons are often not meant to destroy us — but to humble us, protect us, and draw our hearts closer to God.
When we build our lives on Him as our foundation, we begin to see clearly what truly belongs in our lives and what does not.
Today ask yourself:
What might I be relying on too much?
And does that reliance draw me closer to God — or slowly pull my heart away from Him?
