The different siren sounds in Amman

Описание: Something new I noticed today while living here in Amman, Jordan — there are actually two distinct tones in the air raid sirens.

The first one is that classic “wee-woo, wee-woo” sound — kind of like a Doppler effect. That’s the warning siren, indicating that a missile may be incoming.

Then, a little while later, there’s a second sound — just a single, steady tone. From what I understand, that second tone means either the missile has passed, or that it was just a sighting and there's no longer an immediate threat.

It’s a small detail, but something I’ve learned today about how people here stay alert and informed during these tense times. Just another part of daily life now in Amman.
