This video profiles the southern section of Mt Terrible Track which runs between the intersection with Ryan Spur and Moonlight Spur Tracks to the summit of Mt Terrible. Mt Terrible Track is located within a firebreak zone that generally runs in a north-south direction. The track is well maintained and is an easy 4wd track with undulating slopes (nothing too steep). There is only one minor obstacle, a few rocks to scramble over up near the intersection with Donald Track. The firebreak also has a maintenance access track that runs parallel to Mt Terrible Track for most of the way. Whilst it is tempting to head along this track, it should be noted that it is legally considered as off-road driving (go figure!). The southern section of Mt Terrible track is a fun drive that takes you along some narrow ridge lines and the views of the range are not bad. Note: this track could get a bit greasy in some sections after rain. Mt Terrible Hut is located on the summit of Mt Terrible and is well worth a visit. It takes about 0.75-1 hr to drive this section of Mt Terrible Track. Catch you out there!
