Why did Shadow become evil ?

Shadow, a great hero, the guy who defeated Titan, the hero who freed hundreds, if not thousand of worlds from extinction and destruction caused by Titan. But you might have heard that shadow is one of the bosses in shadow fight 3. Some people assume that he's the main antagonist of the game, however he isn't. But he is still fought as an enemy boss. If you read some articles about what happened after the end of shadow fight 2, you can find that Shadow killed May, and then became a tyrant, who is searching for his own descendant, so that he can exterminate him. But how did Shadow go from an honorable hero to an brutal murderer and tyrant? And is he actually evil as it seems?

Back story from sf2 ( defeat of titan, how may and shadow started a happy life )
If you completed Shadow Fight 2, and seen the end screen of the game, you probably know that after defeating Titan, Shadow starts a happy life with May. You also might have noticed a dark shadow following them behind. It turns out to be shadow energy that remained with shadow even after defeating Titan. It will play a crucial role in the further story.

Before sf3 ( birth of a descendant , death of May )
After some time, Shadow and May's child is born. However ... it turns out, that he also has a sentient entity of pure shadow energy, that's quite powerful. For some reason ( devs needed to make another part of the game with a dramatic plot ), Shadow feels that this sentient is dangerous and in order to protect May, he starts attacking it. He probably thought May was in danger and under stress concluded it would be the best action to do. However, it wasn't going to hurt anyone and instead started protecting May from Shadow. And because Shadow tried to attack pure energy, which is impossible to destroy, the damage was done to May and she died ( look I know that you think this story is weird, but that's what it is ).

Beginning of SF3 ( what shadow wants in aftermath )
Shadow didn't want to acknowledge his mistake and instead blamed his own descendant for things that happened. He could only separate the shadow mind that was in the descendant from the descendant himself. For whatever reason it's then believed that descendant is dead, however it isn't true. And shadow hates the descendant so much that he is ready to kill him or her ( it depends on what gender the player chose ).

What's next ( how things unfold )
The story of Shadow fight 3 is so long, that it requires a video of its own. Probably two long videos. But what exactly happens to Shadow ? I'll try to retell as quick as possible. Most important event is cleansing - creation of new world and destruction of the current one. Or at least that's what Shadow wanted it to be. Why however? Well, he wanted May to be alive again. Although, he doesn't realize that shadow mind can't be destroyed and the new world can't be created as he wants without taking control of Shadow mind. Later, Shadow will find out that his cleansing is ineffective and the real villain of the game was all the time near everybody and nobody suspected that he wanted to have world domination... Not only the real villain takes control of the shadow mind, but he also turns out to be "the real shadow descendant" and the copy of the descendant is the player. So Shadow is desperate, and May tells him that the real descendant is the one who tries to save the world and Shadow must help his descendant to guess what? To defeat his own descendant! And eventually the descendant who is played by player defeats the evil one, becomes a shadow god, the world is destroyed and descendant decides how to make the world again. ( Everything in this video is in fact a tiny proportion of the actual story of the game. Nekki really took it personally when people said shadow fight 2 was too quick to complete )
