Easy Shepherds pie recipe

Onion 2 Cups
Carrot 2 Cups
Mushrooms 2 Cups
Ground beef 2.5 Pounds
Ketchup 1/4 C
Salt 1 tsp
Tomato Paste 2 T
Worcestershire sauce 1/2 T
Beef base 1 oz volume
Water 2 Cups
Rosemary ground 1/4 tsp
Nutmeg 1/4 tsp
Black pepper 1/4 tsp
Parsley fresh minced 2 T
Chopped garlic 2 T
Cornstarch 1/4 Cup
Cold water 1/4 Cup
Green peas 3 C or as proffered
MASHED POTATOES (USE ANY KIND)
Green onions for Garnish - As needed

1. Mix together (Ketchup through chopped garlic) and put to the side for now.
2. In a skillet or favorite pan add veggies and start cooking and sweating fro about 5 minutes, then add ground beef and breakdown the ground beef, allow ground beef to almost cook and add your spices (the mix from the previous step).
3. Bring all of this to a low simmer, now that everything has been well incorporated and ground beef is fully cooked, mix your water and corn starch then add to the homemade shepherds pie to thicken.
4. Give it 2 minutes to really thicken up on low heat, while this happens, warm up your mashed potatoes if not already warm this will allow them to be spread easier.
5. Now add the green peas. Mix well and pull the pan from heat and cover the entire pan with the warmed mashed potatoes. Create some texture on top with a fork or knife, then place the entire pan in a broiler or torch it on top if you have one, finish this with green onions.
