The government has pledged strengthened security and tighter enforcement measures to protect fishers following recent pirate attacks and rising concerns over illegal fishing.
Speaking at the Marine Stewardship Council certification event in Accra, Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Emelia Arthur, announced coordinated efforts between the Fisheries Enforcement Unit, the Marine Police, and the Ghana Police Service to safeguard lives and livelihoods at sea.
