How to Create Custom Page Categories in Wordpress and Elementor | Custom Taxonomies with ACF (SCF)

Описание: Everybody knows how to make post categories in WordPress, but what if you want to create a custom PAGE categories? WordPress doesn't provide a native, built-in solution for this.

Luckily, you can install Secure Custom Fields (SCF), previously known as Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) plugin to achieve this.

After installing and activating the SCF plugin, go to Taxonomies and create a new taxonomy. In 'Post types', select 'Page' and Save Changes.

If you create a new page or edit an existing one, in WordPress editor in the sidebar, you will see your custom Page category taxonomy where you can choose or add new page categories.

If you are editing a Single Page Template in Elementor Pro, you will now be able to set the display condition of the template to apply only to that page category! In the conditions, just choose 'Include' - 'Page' and find your custom page category taxonomy. Then start typing the actual page categories to apply the page template to them only.
