before the sound fully enters.
The erhu does not speak yet.
It draws near.
Notes emerge slowly,
carried more by air than by melody,
as if desire were learning how to breathe.
There is no rhythm to follow,
no phrase to complete.
Only proximity,
and the quiet tension of something almost present.
This track may be played in a loop
while resting, reflecting,
or listening without expectation.
Nothing arrives.
The approach remains.
