It's the end of June now in the Tropical Garden and the Persicaria Red Dragon has gone wild. Time for a good trim back and a day of weeding.
Although the Persicaria Red Dragon is a vigorous grower, and related to the Japanese Knotweed family, luckily it is easily manageable and can be chopped back and it stays quite happy, and soon sizes up again. It is a lovely plant for filling in spaces and really goes well with Tropical Style planting with it's dark maroon coloured leaves. It grows to 110cm tall but does not spread around the garden.
