Namperumalsamy tries to answer in his talk. Having been a part of the Aravind Eye Care foundation since its inception in 1976 he has witnessed the growth and transformation of a healthcare enterprise that has stayed true to its cause of providing sustainable healthcare services while maintaining high standards. Aravind Eye Care’s business model, which has been studied as a case study at Harvard Business School, has impacted millions of people in rural India through free and affordable eye-care. Dr. Namperumalsamy is the Chairman of Arvind Eye hospitals and Opthalmologist. He is known for bringing assembly-line efficiency to eye surgery. In 2010, TIME magazine named Namperumalsamy one of the 100 most influential people in the world This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
