The secret to the best tasting kare-kare is the ground peanuts and the toasted ground rice which we called "BINUSANG BIGAS". These two ingredients are responsible for the thickened sauce and the nutty flavor that won't ever lose its consistency. Toast the rice flour and use freshly ground peanut paste made from garlic peanuts for the best flavor. Then, pair this stew with bowls of steamed rice and lots of greens with a side of your favorite kind of bagoong alamang.
Kare-Kare Ingredients :
1/4kilo. Pisngi ng Baka (Cow's Cheek)
1/4kilo. Isaw ng Baka (Cow Intestine)
1/4kilo. Beef Meat (Laman ng Baka)
1/4kilo Tuwalya ng Baka (Cow Towel)
1/2tbsp. Salt
1pc. White Onion
1head. Garlic
1pc. Puso ng Saging (Banana Heart)
1pc. Eggplant (Talong)
1pc. Cabbage (Repolyo)
1roll. Sitaw (Long Beans)
3bundle. Pechay (Tagalog)
250grams. Roast Peanut
3tbsp. Ground Pop Rice (Giniling na bigas/Binusang Bigas)
1pc. Beef Cube
1/4cup. Annatto Oil (Achuete)
250grams. Peanut Paste
2tbsp. Sugar
