Stockmar creates products with a special focus on the senses. Colour harmony is central to this. The famous colour theory of Goethe forms the foundation for Stockmar’s balanced colour spectrum, which encompasses the entire rainbow - based on the primary colours blue, red, and yellow, and their secondary mixtures: orange, green, and violet. This harmony allows me to work with a cohesive colour palette that brings vibrancy and depth to my work.

The careful composition of Stockmar crayons greatly supports my creative process. The crayons are made from a blend of high-quality microcrystalline wax (e.g., paraffin), plant-based wax, natural beeswax, and pigments. The addition of around 10% beeswax gives the crayons a pleasant scent and a slight transparency, which not only preserves their colour intensity but even enhances it. Using more beeswax would alter the drawing experience and place an unnecessary burden on this precious natural resource.
