Angelina Jolie steps down as the UN's refugee agency ambassador

Jolie, 47, started working with the UN as a goodwill ambassador in 2001 and was appointed the organisation's first special envoy in 2012. During her period in the position she conducted more than 60 field missions visiting refugees, campaigning against sexual violence and using her platform to raise awareness of neglected conflicts from Burkina Faso to Yemen.
