In this video, I take a look at a customer’s 2009 Dodge Charger with the 3.5HO engine. The customer complaint is that the check engine light is on, the fuel gauge stopped working, and the vehicle died on the side of the road and had to be towed in.
Are these problems related?
Is there one root cause creating multiple symptoms?
Was the issue self-inflicted when the customer replaced the right-side fuel sending unit trying to fix the check engine light?
Before jumping to conclusions, we need to understand how the system actually works. Once we break that down, the answers start to make sense.
Stick around for Part 2 where we dig deeper into the diagnosis.
