meaning of ' Not - for - Profit Organizations ( NPO ) are set up with the prime objective of providing services and not to earn profit thereby enhancing the welfare of society Such organizations include schools , hospitals , trade unions , religious organizations , etc. The person / s or the groups of individuals who govern and manage the working of an NPO are known as trustees . NPO's main sources of income are donations , subscriptions , life membership fees , grants etc. As these organisations are not set up with profit motive , they do not prepare Trading and Profit and Loss Account . Instead , they maintain Receipt and Payments Account , Income and Expenditure Account and Balance Sheet .
अर्थ 'गैर-लाभकारी संगठन (एनपीओ) की स्थापना सेवाएं प्रदान करने के मुख्य उद्देश्य से की जाती है, न कि लाभ कमाने के लिए जिससे समाज का कल्याण बढ़ता है। ऐसे संगठनों में स्कूल, अस्पताल, ट्रेड यूनियन, धार्मिक संगठन आदि शामिल हैं। एनपीओ के कामकाज को नियंत्रित और प्रबंधित करने वाले व्यक्तियों या व्यक्तियों के समूह को ट्रस्टी के रूप में जाना जाता है। एनपीओ की आय के मुख्य स्रोत दान, सदस्यता, आजीवन सदस्यता शुल्क, अनुदान आदि हैं। चूंकि ये संगठन लाभ के उद्देश्य से स्थापित नहीं हैं, इसलिए वे व्यापार और लाभ और हानि खाता तैयार नहीं करते हैं। इसके बजाय, वे रसीद और भुगतान खाता, आय और व्यय खाता और बैलेंस शीट बनाए रखते हैं।
