The Nijut Babu, Mukhyamantri Jibon Prerona, and Jibon Anuprerana schemes were officially launched by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to provide a comprehensive financial safety net for students in Assam. The Nijut Babu Scheme targets male students in higher education with monthly stipends of up to ₹2,000, while the Mukhyamantri Jibon Prerona Scheme provides ₹2,500 per month to fresh graduates to support them during job hunts and exam preparation. For those in advanced academics, the Jibon Anuprerana Scheme offers a one-time grant of up to ₹40,000 to research scholars and PhD students.
