The University of Newcastle is researching whether exercising in an exoskeleton device can improve health outcomes for people who have a severe impairment in their ability to move.
There are quite a few exoskeletons that are on the market and the Rex Bionic device is the only free-standing device. That means that you don't need to use a frame or crutches.
For that reason, it's probably the most suitable device for severely impaired patients.
The research aims to collect data to help inform the development of future exoskeletons.
