Talk about insane! So here seen is a Southbound mixed freight on the Garret Sub lead by a Tier 4 ET44AH and trailing behind that, a DASH-8 bursting in flames out of the exhaust shoot. Behind that, 2 ex-Conrail DASH-8's. Then a Northbound mixed freight with an ex-CR DASH-8 leading flies past this one.
The unit in flames I'm assuming blew a valve or a gasket or something. I was about to contact CSX to report the incident, but then a hy-rail truck came by with a maintainance crew, and so I notified him. From what he said, the train crew was already aware and was trying to get past the signals before bringing the train to a stop.
