This black-and-white upload contains clips from six episodes of the television program titled “Industry on Parade” produced by the National Association of Manufacturers and Arthur Lodge Productions, Inc. “Industry on Parade” is an American television program that portrays the nation’s industrial sector during the 1950s. The films strove for a broad representation of American enterprises and industries.
The first episode #142 from 1953 includes views of the oil industry, manicure instrument production, and railway restoration. The second episode #197 from 1954 includes views of public safety and health testing, lawn sprinkler production, the aerocar, and a children’s orchestra. The third episode #174 from 1954 includes views of the cutting of fruit and vegetables judged by fellow canning workers, the production of the "Toolometer" monitors, and the manufacturing of rubber dolls and animals. The fourth and fifth episodes #60 and #32 from 1951 include views of scrap metal collecting and recycling. The last episode’s number is unknown and includes footage from a book printing company in Kingsport, Tennessee.
