At least 160 people in Germany have died and emergency services are still searching for missing people after the country experienced its worst flooding in decades.
The town of Ahrweiler is normally a tourist attraction but now has debris piled more than six feet high and the roads are filled with thick mud.
Bridges are broken and roads are ripped up, with cars strewn around the town.
There is a sense of comradery blended with bewilderment and helplessness as the people of Germany try to come to terms with the tragedy which has occurred.
