TVS Jupiter Highlights
TVS has launched the BS6-compliant Jupiter at Rs 61,449 (ex-showroom). It comes in three variants: base, ZX and Jupiter Classic. The TVS Jupiter BS6
is powered by a 109.7cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine, which generates 7.4PS (0.51PS less than the BS4 version) and 8.4Nm (same as the BS4 model). The fuel-injected motor is claimed to offer 15 per cent better mileage.
The BS6-compliant version comes with an LED headlamp and tail lamp, an optional apron-mounted USB charger, a mobile cubbyhole, and a larger 21-litre underseat storage. The Classic variant gets a tinted visor, premium interior panels and seat cover, and a brand new blue colour. At 109kg, kerb, the weight has gone up by 1kg.
Suspension hardware includes a telescopic fork and a 3-step preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. All the TVS Jupiter BS6 variants get 130mm drum brakes with Synchronised Braking Technology (SBT) at both ends. The TVS Jupiter BS6 primarily competes with the Honda Activa 6G and the Hero Maestro Edge. Price-wise the TVS Jupiter competes with the Honda Shine BS6, Hero Maestro Edge 125. and Yamaha Fascino
