Описание: At CES 2025, we’re unveiling the next step in John Deere’s autonomy journey. The industries John Deere customers work in all share a common constraint: work that has to get done at a certain time of the day or in a certain season, and labor availability affects whether that work can get done.

From productivity and efficiency issues, to labor shortages to and new business demands. Farmers, contractors, and landscaping professionals face unprecedented challenges that impact their profitability. At John Deere, we are committed to scaling our tech stack to deliver true autonomy — machines that can operate independently without an operator in the cab to our customers in the field, and on the pavement, fairways, and turf. Autonomy helps solve these challenges by giving our customers the technology they need to do more with less.

On the Farm: The Autonomous 9RX Tractor can navigate through a field from point A to point B and perform multiple complex and precision ag tasks while detecting changes in its environment through 16 individual cameras that are arranged in pods around the tractor.

Within the Quarry: The 460 P-Tier Autonomous Articulated Dump Truck hauls clay and rock around the quarry to facilitate different steps in the mining cycle. These haul trucks work together to transport thousands of tons of material daily with tight deadlines. Any drop in productivity can be challenging to recover from. The camera array provides a 360-degree view of what’s around the machine and it can recognize common objects in a construction environment. Depth models ensure the machine can not only gauge what an object is, but where it is in relation to the vehicle.

In The Orchard: John Deere's 5ML Autonomous Diesel Orchard Tractor and the attached air blast sprayer eliminate human error and eliminate the need to train new operators, increasing productivity and allowing farmers the time to focus on other tasks around the orchard. In addition to the nine cameras placed around the tractor, Lidar sensors help the tractor “see” its surroundings, allow the machine to adapt to the dynamic environments in orchards using lasers to measure distances.

On The Grass: Deere's Autonomous Battery Electric Mower enables landscape professionals to address an existing labor shortage and focus worker time on other important tasks like pruning and edging. This mower leverages four pairs of stereo cameras, with one positioned in the front, one in the back, and one on each side for 360-degree coverage. The autonomous battery electric mower can operate up to 10 hours per cycle, and mow at a rate of 5-6 miles per hour, and adjust its speed to deliver optimal cut quality.
