One of the most fun tracks I've ever played I think. I love playing really aggressively and it's the only way you will get a similar tone for the choruses. You need to punish those strings basically. I looked at many live videos to confirm that he doesn't use any modulation effects for the chorus. It's just aggressive playing + drive.
