This device is a low-power, low-voltage serial EEPROMs offering 1 Kbit or 2 Kbit of memory (128 or 256 × 8-bit words) for industrial and commercial applications. They feature five programmable software write-protection levels, with options to make protection permanent and safeguards to prevent accidental locking.
Each device includes a 256-bit Security Register in addition to the main EEPROM. This register contains:
A factory-programmed, read-only, guaranteed unique 128-bit serial number, permanently locked and consistent across the entire Atmel CS Series, enabling reliable device identification without manufacturing serialization.
A user-programmable 128-bit (16-byte) area, which can also be permanently write-protected for securing sensitive data.
The devices use an I²C-compatible 2-wire interface, operate from 1.7V to 3.6V, and are available in a compact 4-ball ultra-thin WLCSP package, with other packaging options available on request.
