Kasar Devi
Perched at just 8 kms from Almora, Kasar Devi is a hushed hamlet situated in the verdant Kumaon hills. One of the many hidden jewels in Uttarakhand, Kasar Devi gets it's name from a famous temple dedicated to local deity Kasar Devi. It is also famous for its spiritual vibes ans was a favourite haunt for artists and spiritual seekers in the 1960's which includes Swami Vivekananda, Bob Dylan, George Harrison and many more.

In addition to all this, Kasar Devi has some beautiful cafes offering serene views of the Himalayas and a laid back atmosphere perfect for introspection and relaxation. The serve delicious local and international cuisine amidst a tranquil setting. Some of my favourite cafes which I visited, loved and would highly recomend are Rainbow Cafe, Mohan's Cafe, Himalayan Hobbit house and The Himalayan tea house cafe.
You can visit these cafes while travelling to Binsar or Almora also.
