Boca Grande, Florida - Afternoon into Sunset

Описание: SW Florida woke up to a cool 53 degrees.

It was a beautiful afternoon to head to the beach and then stay to watch the sunset. The beach has some people but it was not packed. No one was in the water as it is pretty chilly this time of the year. You will though run across people that are brave and get into the Gulf. It's like a cold plunge.

The birds were out especially the pelicans. They sit down where people are fishing and then wait to try to steal the fish off the line. First time for me seeing it but it can get pretty chaotic for such. The pelicans rush the fishermen and try to get the fish. Sometimes they get tangled in the line, I watched as the fishermen try to get them free, but not all the time does it work. They do throw the fish they caught to the birds to enjoy. I watched some swallow it with no issue. The pelican within my video could not swallow it. I watched him for a while and then moved on my way. The issue I saw was that when he grabbed the fish from the sand it fell into his pouch shaped like a "C" so he could not get it straightened out. I figured he would have to get the fish out and onto the sand again and try to pick up again but all the other pelicans stand around him. I know it is nature working and I do hope he finally got to swallow that fish.

The sunset was very pretty, the temperature at 3pm was 78 degrees but by the time the sun set it had dropped into the 60s. I hope you enjoyed the pictures of the beautiful sky as much as I did.
