Izthmi - The Arrows Of Our Ways (Progressive Black Metal 2020 - USA)

Описание: I don't know exactly what the artists in Seattle are consuming, but it definitely works, because there is almost no week that I don't come across an exciting new band from this part of the USA. My latest discovery is IZTHMI who are playing some kind of atmospheric Black Metal in the direction of Cascadian Sound on their debut album THE ARROWS OF OUR WAYS adding progressive guitar playing and brilliant drumming. The songs are well balanced and in some points really unpredictable. Besides the fast blastbeat parts, there are doomy moments as well as distinctive instrumental passages which including captivating progressive melodies to find their place in the songs of the longplayer. In general the instruments are very diversified and are presented in a good audio production that is combined with some noise elements and sampling, which definitely supports the intensity of the sound and gives it enough space to unfold. Also in the vocals there is variety to discover with the alternation of nasty growls and hymnic parts, which do extremely well to the atmosphere and can gives this album the final touch.
IZTHMI should especially please fans of bands like ALDA, ADDAURA or even MORBUS CHRON. With THE ARROWS OF OUR WAYS the band has released a fantastic first Album which left a lasting impression on me and will surely be played by me a few more times. So if you have wanderlust for the wide, untouched nature, this record is just the right thing for you.
