10 Minutes From Home and Trapped in a Massive Traffic Jam

I was just trying to get home from the mall and got stuck in a crazy mess on I-84 in Connecticut. I was almost home—only about 10 minutes away—but I ended up sitting there for a long time. There were so many different ambulances, fire trucks, and about 10 different cop cars that went by.

The traffic was so bad that people started getting out of their cars to film and walk around. The breakdown lane was completely filled up, so there was no way out. The most tense part was when a cop walked past my car and kept staring intensely into the woods like he was searching for someone. It was giving me a lot of anxiety being there alone, but luckily I had over a half tank of gas in my Prius to keep the heat on.
